Privacy policy
Invoquote is a Mac app for invoices, quotes and rate cards, published by Machine Moving Image Creative Ltd. It works entirely on your Mac and does not send your data to us or anyone else.
What the app stores
Your business details, clients, invoices, quotes, rate cards, projects, templates and logos are saved in one file on your Mac, Invoquote-data.json. By default it is inside the app's macOS sandbox container (~/Library/Containers/com.wearemachine.invoquote/). You can move it to a folder you choose. A copy of the previous session's data is kept alongside it.
Files you choose
Invoquote can only read or write files and folders you choose in a standard macOS Open or Save panel. It remembers folders you chose using macOS security-scoped bookmarks. PDFs are saved only in the folder you pick. Reference images or PDFs you choose for colour suggestions are analysed on your Mac.
No network connections
The app is sandboxed with no network permission at all, so it cannot connect to the internet. It has no accounts, sign-in, analytics, advertising, tracking, crash-reporting service, AI services or third-party SDKs.
Invoquote prepares email text, but you always send it yourself, in your own email service. Apple Mail opens through the standard macOS Share menu, with the subject placed on your clipboard. Gmail or Outlook opens in your web browser with the address, subject and message in the link; from then on, Google's or Microsoft's privacy policies apply. Invoquote never sees or stores your email account details. Client email addresses you enter are saved in your data file.
Dictation
If you dictate, you are using macOS's own dictation, under Apple's privacy policy. Invoquote does not use the microphone itself.
Exports, backups and cloud folders
Export all data writes one .json file containing all your profiles, business and bank details, templates, logos, clients and documents. It isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. If you keep your data, exports or PDFs in a folder managed by iCloud Drive, Dropbox or another service, that service may sync them under its own terms and your settings. Your own system backups may also include app data.
No data collection or tracking
We do not collect any data from Invoquote. The App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. Apple may separately process purchase, App Store or operating-system diagnostics information under its own privacy policy and your settings. Invoquote is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Your controls
You choose where your data and PDFs are kept. Export or delete your data at any time. Deleting a project never deletes the documents in it. Deleting the app removes its container; files you saved elsewhere stay where you put them. We cannot access or delete anything on your Mac.
Support
If you email us, we receive the address and information you choose to send. We use it to answer your request and investigate the issue. Please don't send real client details or invoices unless you need to. We retain support correspondence while needed to resolve your request and maintain the support record, and delete it when no longer needed, subject to any applicable legal retention requirement. You can ask us to delete your support correspondence by emailing info@wearemachine.co.uk.
This website
These pages have no advertising, analytics scripts, embedded social widgets or contact form. The hosting provider necessarily receives connection information, such as an IP address and browser request, to deliver the website and operate its service.
